Howto Install Logitech Driver And Nothing Else

If you are like me, you like to know what you install on your machine and you like to avoid installing small pieces of software that stay in the system tray and in the background.

This is because these "small" pieces of software take up memory and CPU and are generally annoying.

You may have noticed that the Logitech drivers now take 79 MB of space, which is more than all of Marratech and Firefox and most other software I use.

If you want to avoid all the bells and whistles such as the animation features, the little system tray tool and all the other "useless tools" follow these instructions:

(If you already have all of it installed, do an uninstall of everything, then follow these instructions)

1. Download Winzip ( http://www.winzip.com) (or an equivalent tool) and install it... if you do not already have such a tool.

2. Download the Logitech Driver and save to it disk.

3. Start Winzip (or equivalent)

4. Drag and drop the Logitech Driver file into Winzip

5. Select all the files that are in the Driver directory and press Extract.

6. Open the Driver directory and run setup.exe

7. Done.

The new drivers from Logitech enable installation of only the drivers and not of the 100 MB of non-useful, cpu and memory hogging features.
